Jocelyn Adams - Living life one word at a time

I enjoyed this story. The opening chapter caught my interest right away. The relationship that built between Elise and Kane was believable and sweet. The supporting characters played their parts well. Aside from a few questionable decisions by Elise, the characters behavior was appropriate and believable.

This book would be a great deal better with the benefit of professional editing. Words like felt/feel as well as the exclamation mark were very noticably overused. Most of the story was told and not shown through the characters actions and expressions. There were also many tense shifts and some passive voice throughout. In many places, the story did not unfold in a linear fashion. The scene would open, only to flip to a flashback, which I found a little jarring.

Having said that, the characters and story still engaged my interest enough to finish and I'm happy I did.
